Cost Effective Fertigation System
Do you need a quick way to fertilize a number of plants but don't want to get the crown or flowers wet while doing so? Does the cost of industrial injection systems have you down? If so the EZ-FLOW Hose Bib or Drip System might just be the answer to your watering woes. I've been using the EZ-FLOW Hose Bib system with an anti-siphon faucet fitting for about a year now and have found it an accurate way to fertilize my clivia with my standard hose and wand. I water the pots around the root zone and avoid watering the crown and leaves of the plants. This method of watering has greatly reduced Crown Rot and Rust problems in my collection. The product allows a variety of fertilizer delivery settings. My watering wand has a squeeze trigger so I'm not delivering water all the time, only when I put the wand in the pot and squeeze the trigger. The problem I had using a Dramm Syphonject, was that it was not designed to work that way. It needed full pressure at all times to properly deliver a constant supply of fertilizer and the rate of application was not adjustable. The EZ-FLOW system solved my problem and gave me the flexibility to fertilize at different rates. I purchased an EZ-FLOW model EZ 2013 HB, which has a 1.3 gallon tank to hold the fertilizer of your choice. I have used Peter's 20-20-20, Greenlight Bloom Booster and Miracle Grow brands of fertilizer in this system with no problem at all. The best news is that I was able to shop the internet and find the system with an anti-siphon valve for under $70.00 USD delivered to my door.
